What is Pediatric Telepsychiatry?

Through the NowPsych website via your phone, tablet, or computer, you can see a child psychiatrist in real time within the privacy and comfort of your home. The child psychiatrist can address all common psychiatric and behavioral health challenges such as depression, anxiety, behavior issues, and more. Our psychiatrists can prescribe medications and send prescriptions to your pharmacy for the treatment of your child’s issues as well as provide therapy.

How long is an online child psychiatry visit?

Initial evaluations are usually 60 or more minutes, and follow-up appointments tend to be shorter around 30 minutes. Our psychiatrists take their time to make sure that the best and most thorough evaluation and treatment plans possible can be made.

What happens in an online pediatric psychiatrist visit?

An online psychiatry session is just the same as a visit to a doctor, it just happens via a video screen on a phone or computer. The psychiatrist will ask you for some basic information like your name and age, and then they will ask you about your current psychological or behavioral symptoms,  your medical and family history, and talk about factors that may be causing or making those symptoms worse. Using all of the information that they gather from you, the psychiatrist will come up with a detailed evaluation followed by a treatment plan that might include therapy or medications.
